It's me again! Unfortunately (or Fortunately?), I don't have much to say this time around but I've kept you all in the dark for awhile so I wanted to give a brief update.
For the past two weeks, I've been busy working away on assignments. My teacher decided to thrust the remaining assignments on us at the same time which has caused quite an issue concerning my big Europe Trip. So I haven't really traveled much since my last post, I've been keeping my nose in books, articles, magazines, film clips etc. They are all due in May, however I really don't want to worry about them too much while I'm in Europe for the next three weeks.
One thing that I did experience since our last chat, as some of you have already seen on Facebook, was the Solar Eclipse. On March 20th, there was a Solar Eclipse across the Northern Hemisphere in Europe. Liverpool was projected to see it pretty well so I got up early and camped in my kitchen to see if I could witness the eclipse. Our kitchen had a perfect view of the sun and I figured why bother going to a park when I'm already high up enough with a good view.
At first, I didn't realize the solar eclipse was occurring. I kept taking pictures of the sun, but it just looked like it's regular glowing self. All of a sudden, it got really cold. Significantly colder. I'm thinking at least a 10-15 degree drop. I looked up at the sun through my zoomed in digital camera and lo and behold! A shadow! I felt like Puunxsutawney Phil! Igor, my roommate from Russia, came barreling into the kitchen as we both started taking pictures and video of it. It never got super dark, but it did get noticeably gray. An island off of England reached a total Eclipse, however, we in Liverpool did not as you will see. After the peak of the eclipse occured, good ole British weather rolled in and the sun was blocked out by clouds. Igor was expecting a spectacle and was disappointed. I was not. It was certainly a rare experience.

Tomorrow I begin my big European Adventure! I'm catching a flight to Paris where I will be staying until next Wednesday. Halley is going to be meeting me so we are going to see Paris together. After that I'll be heading to other countries as she goes back to school. Here is a list of where I'll be and when for those of you keeping tabs:
Paris: Friday April 3rd-Wednesday April 8th
Rome, Italy: Wednesday April 8th- Saturday April 11th
Florence, Italy: Saturday April 11th- Monday April 13th
Switzerland (James Bond lair in the Alps, Reichenbach Falls): April 13th- April 15th
Zurich, Switzerland: April 16th
Rosenheim, Germany (Where Halley attends school): April 17th- April 22nd.
I won't be bringing my computer so I won't be able to update the blog as I go. I just don't want to have to lug it around and worry about it getting taken. So afterwards, be ready for week after week of jampacked posts!
Trivia! Only one person voted...and got it right! Survey says...8! 8 people were on Noah's Ark. No trivia this week (I can hear you cheering).
That's it for me. Happy Easter to everyone! I'll back back to enlighten you very soon about my European adventure!
Peace & Love,
Mark
